Ever since I was a child, I have enjoyed music. Believe it or not, I have video footage of me freestylin' at the age of four! I would make beats on trees with sticks and a little keyboard I got one year for my birthday. As I got older, hoopin’ with my cousins out in Haughville became my focus. My raw talent on the court drew attention from several major colleges in the state--one of which offered me a full ride basketball scholarship. However, in my heart, freestylin’ and music was something I just couldn’t let basketball trump. So, I turned the scholarship down. Yea, some people saw it as a missed opportunity but those that knew me understood.

You know what though, all those courts I hooped on and the people I dunked on weren’t in vain. They were life experiences. Now I can add those experiences to my freestyles to express the true state of the people and the system we currently live in.
